The jury in this case seemed fit to bring a not guilty verdict because the state did not prove its case, now we have the POTUS trying to usurp the judicial system because the black community did not get the verdict they wanted and they call it a miscarriage of justice. It wasn't a miscarriage of justice, the trial went on under the rule of law and a verdict was handed down. The POTUS, AG and the rest of the country needs to allow the justice system to function, it may not be perfect but it's allot better than the alternative.
After this experiment, it might be a long time before there is another black president. So much promise going to waste!

It's absolutely true that people (doesn't matter what color they are) react differently when the see a young black man. They are just a little more weary. It doesn't make them bad that they do, society has conditioned them to be this way.

What makes them bad is that they refuse to recognize this. They refuse to understand that while race relations have absolutely come a long way in our country, while civil rights have come a long way, that there is still a long way to go. The only shame in that fact would be if we didn't continue to recognize it, and try to continue to move forward.

The President is the leader of all Americans, not just some. He was right to say what he said, and anyone who feels that he wasn't, clearly doesn't want to hear anything that is in conflict with "their truth". It takes a lot of courage to face tough facts. Especially when you (me/we) bear some of the burden of change.

Myghost (a middle aged, centrist, white guy...)
We know you're not a centrist because you voted for Obama, the most radical and extremist left wing King we've ever had.

Taking credit for the precieved past actions from "others" in the tribe...all the while being as much as beneficiary as anyone else to the hard work of all others...is quintessential Race Dreamer's delusion.
Placing blame for the perceived or past actions of "others" in the tribe... all the while not facing the same obstacles put on those before them but asking for reparations and handouts... is the quintessential reason all Race Victims will never get ahead.

I am pretty sure when the declaration of independence and constitution were written and the executive branch wrote laws and judicial branch upheld them and modified them it was only "white" america involved.

He is the most self centered president I can remember in my 62 years.
His entire speech was designed to reduce hostility. Did you even listen to it? Or just Hannity's version?

If you're right, then King Obama is even dumber than previously thought possible. You don't try and reduce hostility by picking sides and ginning up even more racial hostility.

If he were truly interested in reducing racial tensions, he would have said the same thing Trayvon Martin's parents and lawyers have said: the Zimmerman case had NOTHING to do with race. King Obama didn't say that. Instead, he decided to again use race and the death of a black man for political gain. He is no different than Sharpton and the other race hustlers.

I'm curious where all these right-wingers got their degree?

Clearly - you failed to listen to the speech. He repeated - the jury has spoken; we have to accept it; and that's how our system works. Did you not hear that part?

Whatever. He could part the red seas - turn water into wine and hand out gold bricks like candy and the haters would STILL hate.

Looking at Obama's sheltered life withgoing to private schools in his early life and elite colleges, I doubt it.

And then went on to pick sides by saying he could have been Trayvon Martin 35 years ago. Did YOU listen to the whole speech?

TM's parents and lawyers have shown more sensitivity to race relations than failed King Obama. He's getting exactly the kind of response he wants, too. He'd be thrilled to see the arguments on this thread and he's hoping for unrest at the rallies over the weekend. All of it distracts from his administration's criminal corruption, which is slowly but surely being unmasked. As well as his and his administration's sheer incompetence.
