Stealing entails real harm to another person or persons. Not just the loss of the item or items, but emotionally, financially, and possibly physically if it was an aggravated robbery.
Homosexuality does not involve any harm or coercion to anyone. Therefore you cannot state that theft and homosexuality are somehow morally equivalent.
That doesn't answer the question.
The Bible states that both stealing and homosexuality are sins.
If you are going to criticize Robertson for quoting the Bible, then you need to be consistent.
Homsexuality is a victimless act and is not a crime. Stealing includes a victim and may be a crime.
Again, we are not discussing the nature of homosexuality or stealing, we are discussing the idea that both are called sins in the scriptures, and Robertson is being criticized solely for quoting the Bible.
You can't be non-hypocritical if you would have no problem if he had called stealing a sin.
Went down to Walmart today. I saw a whole lot of Duck Dynasty stuff sitting on the shelves. I also saw a shopping cart full of DD returns. Doesnt look like the Republican base is all that much in love with DD. I guess even the Tea Party types have a limit in how ugly they decorate their houses and double-wides.

The thing is, he did not say stealing was a sin. He went right to the 'hot button' issues A&E warned him not to go to when they hired him.
To equate breaking the law to some religions sin seems pointless. As others have said, I do not recognize the sins per some religion. Yet I still have a good idea about what is breaking the law and what is not.
Honestly I do not care one way or another what the man said. Here in the deep south I hear much worse by folks that concern me more. My neighbors.
Phil Robertson essentially stated what is written in the Bible concerning homosexuality when he answered a direct question and called homosexuality a sin.
The Bible also declares that stealing is a sin.
If Robertson had said that stealing is a sin, and if you are critical of his words about homosexuality, would that have likewise bothered you?
If not, why, and how do you justify such a hypocritical stance?
I don't believe in sin, but I believe there are some things that are wrong. Like stealing.
