Ditto the above two comments... this isn't an issue of free speech, it's an issue of learning your words have consequences. I am FREE to walk around my workplace saying *insert group* is evil, and will not get thrown in jail for it - but do you think my boss will allow that, and I won't face any consequences for saying such things? Nope.
I am one year from being the same age as Phil. He was speaking from his experiences while growing up and living in the south. I grew up in the south at the same time. I also saw no black person that I thought was un-happy in his/her living or working situation. I picked cotton on my grandfathers small farm and they were treated no differently than I was and were paid the same as me. IMO, one that has not been raised in the south during the 40's, 50's and 60's cannot relate. Phil was being honest about what he experienced. No malice intended.
My answer to gays is 'whatever'. Just leave me out.

The blacks probably were happier.. with people like Jackson and Sharpton filling them up with hate and resentment towards ALL whites , how can that make a person happier?
Did anyone really ask GLAAD for their opinion? Seems rather rude of them to butt in and steal the stage here. They are free to produce a popular show and voice whatever opinion they feel is right. Since when does GLAAD get to decide what others should think or say???

It is not just an opinion: it is supported by what the bible tells us. If it was, as Burdell says, "innate," then God wouldn't have called it sin. Therefore, it is a behavior.
