The Congressional Black Caucus refused to allow a White congressman to join, even though he represented a majority Black district. Where was the outrage over that? If the United States Congress can racially discriminate, then surely sororities and fraternities can as well, especially considering that they're private entities.
A white congressman joining the CBC is preposterous. It doesn't even make sense even if he's representing a black district.
There isn't a single non Latino member of the Hispanic Caucus...and plenty of whites in Congress have huge Latino populations in their districts.
But black folks are supposed to bend the rules when no one else does?
It absolutely does....which is why this is strictly a political move. Predominantly white and black frats love when the opposite color pledge....it's like waving a steak in front of a mangy dog. It's open season.
Can you actually prove this or are you just ASSuming?
Q's don't make it easy for ANYONE....and i mean every Tom, Dick and Harry will catch hell trying to cross.
No frat makes it easy to cross...there is a rite of passage. But, a white guy like that is going to be put through the ringer. Seriously, he has to be a masochist.
And I also disgree with the Q's being the hardest frat by a mile. They are just the most well known. Alphas and Sigmas are pretty grimey in their own right.
It's worth noting that during the whole pledging process many of the frats "give wood" to the lines. They get hit with the paddle as part of hazing. Almost all the black frats use a whip...to symbolize the struggle blacks came through to this current day. The Nupes I know first hand actually brag about this openly...
Now, imagine a WHITE neo having to go through that.
Personally, I never understood it. I was approached by both Kappas and Q-dogs, but since I was 30 at the time, I found it to be rather assinine to be humilated by some 20 years old kids and pay to be apart of their group.

I been through the greek life before the golden age of the internet was here...been to tens of banquets. Meet the Greek functions, mixers etc......I have lifelong connections. I pledged HARD. I crossed with the LUL's. I have my stripes.

By the way, I did say respect from their PEERS
Understood. I was 21 and did a lot of growing up after 18 when I was asked to pledge so I get your point. But I came right out and said I'd heard stories and no one was going to physically try to harm me and get away with it. I had no problem doing stupid guy stuff though.
Most 18 year olds wont question things in an environment where they really want to belong.
