LOL. You've just gone into the bowels of absurdity. Such a silly debate is worthless.

Ditto. This is getting beyond absurd.

We still discriminate against those under 18. I guess we ain't a democracy.

This is long overdue and should have happened 40 years ago.

forget women in the 50's, I guess Iran is a little slow in women's rights. Our American standards are too high for some.

isn't democracy a form of government which eligible citizens may participate equally either directly by voting for the passing/ rejecting of laws or running for office themselves, or through elected representatives????

don't quit the conversation......continue....gives us your definition of a democracy.

What is magic about the age of 18? When the voting age was 21 did the fact that 18-21 year olds could not vote make us a democracy?

Absolutely not. Instead, give them the right NOT to marry. Especially that old, leering geezer sitting over there.

Legal age for an adult is universally 18 in the USA? Why do you think that?

Were we a democracy before March 23, 1971?

Were we a democracy when blacks could not vote?

Were we a democracy when women could not vote?

Were we a democracy when 18 year olds could not vote?

no, we were not a perfect democracy but close........how many people can vote in Cuba or any totalitarian state?

if you want to find the flaws in our short history as a Republic to defend and cover the actions of totalitarian governments then you really lost the perspective.

But what can you expect from the blame the USA CROWD?
