Except he won't know firsthand what it is like to be on it.

There are so many good points like this one ^^ in this thread.

Most of the threads don't have such a balance regarding both sides as this thread does.

Lots of good stuff to ponder, not so sure of my own views now...

Oh, this is priceless. Cruz is only buying through the exchanges so he can see how it works from the inside!! He's not trying to cover his butt and get healthcare because he knows if he doesn't have it, one illness or accident could bankrupt him--like it has done to so many others through the years (those being people he could not possibly care less about). No, see, he's really a spy gathering counterintelligence! It's genius!

So is that the newest right wing talking point talk radio has given you to explain why Raffy has bought into the ACA? Hilarious.

That plan he could buy would be ACA compliant.

If he desires to insure the healthcare risks of his family, he buys ACA compliant insurance.

If he desires to forego the employee benefit that subsidizes the cost of insurance, he is free to buy an ACA compliant plan directly from an insurer or off the federal exchange.

He had ACA compliant insurance via his wife's employer subsidized plan.

Only change is who is subsidizing and the enrollment portal.

Ted Cruz's wife worked for Goldman Sachs. Hopefully she quit because she felt guilty....

They are a huge part of the reason we have the economic meltdown

They are dirty

Keep trying to figure out a way to belittle him....and keep failing.....
Federal employees, including Senators, Reps and their aids are all eligible for employee benefits, which include subsidized insurance. This was true before and after ACA.

The portal used by Senators, Reps and their aides is different from the portals used by other federal employees and the general public.

So you mean his experience on the exchanges will not be what is experienced by the average joe?

On another note, if he's on it and now actually experiencing Obamacare for himself, he may start batting for the other team. The poster prior did make an excellent point that if you are for or against something, you really learn the ins and outs when you are truly a part of it.

Personally I don't believe we need to be offering our Politicians health insurance at all.

They are over paid already.

Let them help those who do not have insurance by donating out of their salary
You must be joking. This isn't in any way going to chance his stance on ACA. I bet he is going to get a lot of hits though making out for himself at the expense of others and especially in selling out to the perceived enemy.

If he is getting the fed subsidized part, he is out a few thousand. If not, $10k more.

No better, no worse than many, many others pay. Especially in DC.

ACA is the legislation.

Insurance plans comply with legislation.

The federal/state healthcare exchanges are portals, not insurance.

He used a DC portal designated for Senators, Reps and their aides.

Insurers sell plans via public, private and proprietary portals.

Well, the more I read..the more I understand how so many rail against ACA....It's because they have no clue what ACA is...I recall when ACA (nicknamed Obamacare) was called another name aka Kynect (Kentucky HC exchange) the people who looked into it loved it..when asked about Obamacare..Yikes THEY HATED IT..Worse thing in the world..Get rid of it..LOL
It's just one example of mis-informed individuals making judgements based on lies spewed forth constantly by ACA opponents!!! I have pity for them

Cash for what?

Cancer Treatment Centers typically want cash up front from the uninsured, $75-100,000+ for the first of what may be many rounds of treatment. They are under no obligation to treat the uninsured.

A Wealthy Arab flies in on his private jet for medical tourism, has no issue paying cash.
