What should an officer do is someone is being combative and resisting??

I'm serious here, I've had run ins with cops and the whole nine yards, if you just act polite and be respectful and listen to what they say you tend to not get body slammed.

Chris Rock has a whole bit dedicated to this, I might go dig up the vid on youtube.

While I agree, that's not what I asked. In the case that the person is resisting and kicking the officer, what should he do? (since so many think that what he did here was wrong?)

I approach officers with the full understanding that I might get served up a big can of whoop ass if I act nutty and fight with them.

This is such common sense that I can't believe we have to actually spell it out for people. LOL....

Her face never hits, but easily could have. It wasn't for lack of trying on his part.

She should consider herself lucky, because this scumbag had every intention of hurting her bad with that toss.

A 12 year old girl with a history of fighting, amazing what the world has come to...
Now the aging right wingers are going to pretend that unruly kids didn't exist back in the "good old days".

Take of the nostalgia goggles, gramps. They're clouding your memory.

A parent with their own child should not be in a situation where they have to take them down, handcuff, and arrest them. (As I said up thread, the real failures happened well before this leading up to the situation where the officer was there to arrest the child. Once he was there with that specific duty, much of the outcome was cast.)
Even the most well behaved child make mistakes. Any parent could be in that situation no matter how well you think you raised them.

Cops are trained for many situations. But, you cant expect them to be proficient. Their budgets dont allow. So, he may have done the best thing he knew how after he felt enough was enough.
Also, if she had parents (big IF), that raised her properly, none of this would have happened. Cant wait till the storys entire situation is made to the public. And of course, the left wing whiners will be silent..

But you always asses every situation. But, unless you have been there done that, you dont know the capability of a child. Go to Africa and the Middle East and watch what some of these little kids are doing with weapons and drugs flowing through their veins...
Stop coddling kids, when they act like the way she did. I guarantee there is more to this story.
