To some extent, I think many of you are obsessing about the Saudi "problem" alone.
Are you aware that if American citizens are given the freedom to sue foreign governments, then citizens of foreign governments will also be able to sue our government?
Obama says the reason why he doesn't want Americans suing foreign governments
for crimes is that it would open up foreigners suing American government for its own crimes.

You can't make this up !
There are a lot of foreigners in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq who would line up for that.
They were flown out for their own protection. The family has no ties to terrorism.
With no question being asked? If you committed a major crime, I'm sure the police would want to interview you. This seems to be a deal between the Bush family and the Saudi Royals...

Former President George W. Bush and Dick "weapons of mass destruction" Cheney should be sued for taking the U.S. to war in Iraq under false pretenses. Look at the blood, treasure and liberties lost because of these two war criminals.

Guess what the SCOTUS just decided?
Quote:
The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday in favor of victims of terrorism and their families in a 6-2 split, clearing the way for them to collect nearly $2 billion from the central bank of Iran.
The court decided Congress had not exceeded its authority when it passed a law aimed specifically at securing such restitution.
"(The law) provides a new standard clarifying that, if Iran owns certain assets, the victims of Iran-sponsored terrorist attacks will be permitted to execute against those assets," Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, writing the majority.
Since the 80's Saudi has been the largest purchaser of US military equipment. Unlike most countries who recieve military aid from the US to pay for US mikitary equipment, the Saudis are cash customers. The Saudis don't need the phony- baloney military aid to do business with the US.
If I recall correctly the Saudis have spent more than $100 billion to acquire military equipment from US manufacturers over the past 5 years. How many direct and indirect US jobs depend on continued cash trade relations with the Saudis?
One can overlook a boatload of human rights violations with that kind of money on the line.
