Please keep talking down to Blacks. The Democrat Party needs people just like you to do that.
Yes, they're called fellow Democrats. Democrats are the party of the bigotry of low expectations for Blacks; constantly telling them they can't make it on their own and need Affirmative Action and all kinds of welfare handouts. Destroying their family structure with welfare benefits only given when husbands/fathers are driven out of the home. And people wonder why Blacks have a 72% unwed birth rate... It's due to the Democrats' bigotry of low expectations.

The laws are set up that the sire can mosey on, and that is the true distinction.
Slavery was an investment, some chose to beat and batter their "property". Being bound as a property demeans the life held. The Saga "Roots" was not fiction, it happened.
I cannot stand O'Reilly. He is a poor representation of journalism.
So what?
If he owned another person he was an evil person.
Period.
So what? A BLACK man established legal slave ownership in the American Colonies. How is that NOT an originating/defining moment in the history of slavery in the U.S.?
Which of course explains why less than 1% of the delegates to the Republican convention this year were Black. Same for Latino.
Again Yet the dems worshipped the KKK Grand Wizard from West Virginia, Senator Byrd.
The dems have more racists. It's not even close. When Obama was running, how often did the dems say they wanted a black president?
But keep falsely playing the race card if it helps you sleep at night.
Keep ignoring that point. Whatever you do deflect from the FACT that the dems displayed their racism many times more than repubs did.
And the reason for minorities to stay with the dems is why again? Oh that's right, because they are not allowed to be individuals. Not that the repubs are much different.
none of us were alive during the slave days, nor do we even have relatives alive so how can any of us really know what life was like? believe it or not, some slaves might have been happy with there lives? Was it fair, humane, etc? Probably not, but they did have certain advantages. Yes, they did have food and shelter. Some were happy with that. the difference then and now might have to do with "then" they were given food and shelter but they worked for it. Today many are given food and shelter without working for it.
Please don't get me wrong: of course slavery was wrong, of course Africa sold the least desirables to our country, and we took advantage of them, but it wasn't all bad.
No, it wasn't all bad. Most of it was wonderful.
I mean, what's a little selling one's family away, or a beating with a whip?
It had nothing to do with slavery.....hard to debate if you are not even educated enough to know why the Constitution was written. The humanity of blacks was not the subject of the three-fifths clause; voting power in Congress was the subject......Educate yourself!
Thanks for sharing your kind words.
The 3/5 compromise is found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution, which reads:
"Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons."
If the 3/5 compromise "had nothing to do with slavery" as you are claiming, to whom is the US Constitution referring when it states, "all other persons"?
(Some) Members of the Constitutional Convention recognized the hypocrisy. Here is just one person who spoke out about it:
Quote:
...Dickinson failed to have his way in another matter of importance to him. He firmly opposed slavery and he had freed the slaves that he had inherited from his father. In the convention, he sought to prevent the constitution from encouraging slavery in any way. Though he recognized that the institution of slavery was a matter of state, not national, concern, he argued that the importation of slaves was a “question which ought to be left to the National Govt. not to the States!” He had held that upon the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, slaves “could not afterwards be imported into these states,” and in the convention he declared it “inadmissible on every principle of honor & safety that the importation of slaves should be authorized to the States by the Constitution.” When the convention voted to exempt the slave trade from congressional regulation for twenty years, it avoided the word slave and referred instead to “the migration or importation of such persons as the several States now existing shall think proper to admit.” Dickinson thought this was rank hypocrisy, and he moved that the phrase “the slave trade” should be substituted instead. “The omitting of this word,” he said, “will be regarded as an Endeavor to conceal a principle of which we are ashamed.” His motion was unanimously rejected. ...
Furthermore, Democrats are STILL fully engaged in promoting and maintaining racism and segregation. The ongoing NIMBY racism of blue (Democrat) cities/states:
I'm going to tell you again to get out of the 1800s and into the 2000s.
