Just imagine if he comes back with a compromise.....China might become diplomatically opportunistic as the list of faithful US faithful allies shrinks....

So will he be yet another popular politician voted into office that is called a dictator because our puppet government doesn't like him? Its their country.
America’s Global Image

well , like i said, filipinos have generally been pro-u.s. The fact that they like Duerte, and Duerte dislikes the U.S., does not mean they dislike the U.S.

"Comes back with a compromise" - depends what you mean by compromise. that could be good for the US, for the Philipines to resolve its territorial issues with China.

That's OK, let China prop up their economy and we'll save $200M/yr.

I cannot find the percentage yet, but there are tons of Filipinos who are employed by American companies. If their a-hole President wants to follow this path, I wonder what the economic end-game is.

I also wonder if he is is trying to pull a "Kim Jong Il" where he streams a series of insults and then demands reparations in the form of economic help. Insult, threaten, beg, wash, rinse, repeat.

Overthrow him. Put an American back in the Malacanang Palace. Problem solved. Id like to go back to the 1935-45 period where the Philippines was nominally independent but the US controlled defense and foreign affairs.

Default Phillippine President Announces He will Separation From USA and Will Lean Towards China

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte announced his "separation" from the United States on Thursday, declaring he had realigned with China as the two agreed to resolve their South China Sea dispute through talks.

Duterte made his comments in Beijing, where he is visiting with at least 200 business people to pave the way for what he calls a new commercial alliance as relations with longtime ally Washington deteriorate.

"In this venue, your honors, in this venue, I announce my separation from the United States," Duterte told Chinese and Philippine business people, to applause, at a forum in the Great Hall of the People attended by Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli.

"Both in military, not maybe social, but economics also. America has lost."

You can chalk up another country that hates America because of Obama. Good Job .

Actually it has to do with the fact that they elected an unhinged strongman as their leader. It's having significant internal repercussions too. He's like a crazier Trump.

The reason why the filipinos like the US is that we have been friendly towards them. The US will erode that if it goes after a popular politician.
