It's another small dink out of the dollar being the world currency. I have no problem with this but many others do.

Seems to me that if we controlled the Philippine defenses from 1935 to 1945 we had a major glitch in 1942 when the Japanese controlled the place. Actually we took over the Philippines after the Spanish American War in 1898. We have pretty much operated the place as an economic colony ever since. About time they noticed the rip off and did something about it.

Seems like globalism is blowing up in the globalists' faces. We should've left china alone as a poor back water instead of helping them with "free" trade build into a Super power after the 1970s.

It was Japan than made the Philippines think highly of the US. The US may have been kind of a big brother prone to being a bully at times, however Japan treated them like a waste of skin.

Yeah, I think Duterte is playing a classic game - keep the US from taking the Philippines for granted by flirting a bit with China. Many small countries have done the same, in order to get some advantage.

If so, it has little to do with Obama and quite a bit to do with Duterte's ambitions for himself and for his country.

The protection racket for CIA-sponsored Islamic terrorism is backfiring. China is also having to deal with the same thing in Xinjiang. Several other governments have tried to get Russia and China in to help them fight these groups that are funded by the US. Duterte also needs to remove members of the military and intelligence agency AFP who have ties to the insurgents.

Not really. Regional border adjustments do not obstruct globalism. Globalism is about money, not borders...that's the whole point.

Globalism is about money and no borders. Anti-globalism is about money too and maintaining borders.

There's not going to be no political borders. Globalism doesn't care, as long as the political borders don't stop the flow of money.

Sounds like one world government or order plus mass immigration.

What country wouldn't want that within its borders and jurisdiction?

Here's another theory. Filipinos don't seem to like white Americans in Hawaii. Maybe Asian are just sticking with Asians?
