Take over what? The farms?

So now you're proposing expropriation of private property to the State?

My, my. Faux conservatives continue to show their true colors.

So, in response to rising labor costs which will result in rising food costs, the proposals offered on here are (1) slavery and (2) taking private property and turning it over to the State to run.

Third world, here we come!

There is a poultry plant in my town. I know several people that have worked there for 20 years or more. My brother and SIL both worked there, my son worked there, my nephew worked there. They all eventually move on because the pay wasn't very good and the conditions were crap.

So don't believe those that think higher wages is going to have Americans wanting to work in droves picking crop. They don't. When's the last time you heard your friend saying, "hey I'm thinking about picking crop this summer."

The reality is it's backbreaking work, under a hot sun. I wouldn't do it for 40 bucks an hour.

Be careful what you wish for.
I call BS on that.

They hang on by selling Betsy after the 4th or 5th lactation and the bull calves, of which there is a big market in the northeast.
I don't but I have family that does.

Fair enough I respect that.
