I'm a conservative, but many Republicans are simple-minded rednecks. I listen to a lot of talk radio and hear these types call in. Think of the pot-bellied trailer trash who cleans out septic tanks for a living and fills his free time guzzling beer and watching wrestling with his equally fat wife who works the night shift at the local Walmart. They have a "support the troops" sign and American flag in front of their double wide, but have neither served in the military themselves or otherwise really done anything to support the troops besides putting out a sign.
