Senator and Democrat Robert Byrd who retired in 2010 was a klan organizer and formed his own chapter in the 1940's.
For a very long time the party of the KKK was the democrats. They were also the party that supported slavery in the south. It could be said that without the democrat parties backing the KKK would have been stomped out in the 1870's instead of still being around today.
If they commit crimes or conspire to commit crimes then they should be arrested and sent to prison. Funny how the group that calls themselves anti-fascist act in violent fascist manners.
Except Antifa does cross that line, and they do it unapologetically. That is what makes them different. That's why they should be on a terrorist watch list. If these other groups were to take the same stance as Antifa, then put them on a terrorist watch list too.
You say "group" like they have meetings in the basements at the local church & membership cards.
There's no "president" or "grand dragon", or "supreme leader" of the "northern nowhere ville chapter of the valiant knights of anti-fa".
It's not even like a gang where they get tattoos that say "35th avenue crips" inscribed on themselves.
The only way to "identify" a "member" of antifa is at best - guilt by association or by living in a police state.
I'm sure the government would gladly volunteer to monitor websites, cell phones, chat rooms & create an army of "infiltrates" to frame-up a couple of half-wit self-identified "Antifa members", much like the ATF does routinely with their "gun running" investigations - but you're literally creating a police state to get even lame results.. which creates more anti-fascists.. cause you really have to be kinda /fascist/ to "catch" the anti-fascists..
Probably a much cheaper & better solution would be to stop the guys in blue from murdering, beating, tasing & teargassing people on camera so anti-fa wouldn't have a "cause" to rally behind..
It's in their interest to keep blasting away at Antifa so we can forget about the white supremacists hiding behind the scenes . . . coming to our colleges to recruit our young people . . and the violence and genocide they promote.
