Believe it or not - there are kids who simply are not going to 'break away from you on a busy street'. There are kids who don't get into everything when they are toddlers.
There is no other side. No one has a right to spank a stranger’s child. They can be upset that the parent didn’t discipline the child, but they cannot take the matter into their own hands.
It always cracks me up how offended people get by Clinton's book and this title. Especially when I see many of the same people bemoaning the lack of societal values once held dear by us Westerners. If Reagan or Bush wrote such a book, it would be embraced.
Some people are so into personal responsibility that fail to see that public schools, public roads and cultural behavior standards are the village.

Sure it does. You came in to a thread to question why people were still discussing the topic. If the topic doesn't interest you then no one forces you to participate.
Two of the silliest posts people can make is to come into threads that have no interest for them and ask either "why are you guys discussing this?", or state "Im so bored with this topic". That's why they post an introductory title to the thread, so you can know what its about before clicking on it.
