If marriage was what it was back in the 1800s, I would agree with you, but it is a complex intermingling of taxable assets and it needed to be decided at the federal level.
It would make a good law to be passed at the federal level but it was a horrible Supreme Court decision having nothing to do with the Constitution.
It's not like the Democrats have the making of a platform, that appeals to anybody this close to midterms, so this can go farther back on the GOP plans.
Let me guess. Have you ever seen the "Church lady" skits on Saturday Night Live, back when the show was still funny?
Unfortunately, there is more truth to that than you might imagine. I lived in the Bible Belt for a quarter of a century and those Baptists are something else. As mentally shutdown and inflexible as the Progs are.
Between the 2 groups, we rational people have got our work cut out for us. Exhausting....
The ruling was fundamentally flawed and must be overturned. Same with Roe. Both of these issues should be legislated by the states, which is what will happen when they are overturned.
If legislated by the state then you would still need to address tax code and SS for instance.
It doesn't matter what a majority of conservatives want. Most people support legal marijuana but the GOP is still fighting that in most of the country. What matters is what GOP politicians want and the fact most secular conservatives won't stand up to the theocrats because let's face it, Republicans would have a difficult time winning elections if it wasn't for having a lock on the evangelical vote.
So, you proved that I was correct. You are disingenuous. The results surprised you but the humility doesn't exist for you to own that and to adjust your divisive behavior.
Btw, WHO votes for the politicians? Get how this works?

You really need to move out of your hometown before it's too late for you. Your posts, polls and views about everyday Republicans and conservatives are so over the top and paranoid. Your own polls here proved you dead wrong but you still don't give up. You can't see it of course because that's all you know and you've built a life around your paranoia. It's not too late for you. Get some real help and I'm being sincere.
