The hope for the U.S. lies in splitting this country up into 3 or 4 parts, the sooner the better. Sheesh! California is the same size as Germany, Texas is much larger than France, and New York is how much bigger than England! Why have we waited so long for this to happen? Let's get started! Today!

The U.S. has been a 3rd world country for much of its history, and I see us returning to our roots!
When was the US a 3rd world country? It may have not been quite on par with Western Europe in 1787 but even then was far ahead of just about anywhere else even years earlier as Colonial America.

Some think an idiot president will destroy us, some think we'll be destroyed economically boy foreign powers. Left things right will destroy us, right thinks left will destroy us. The truth is we'll never know.

But do you think we're built to last as a country or were we just a prototype that started with a great idea but had flaws to keep going and we won't be the same country in the future?
I think there is a very real possibility where we will resemble the Soviet Union where there are only the super rich and everyone else is poor, there will be no middle class, due to the Corporate Fascism that controls our government. We are on the way there now. We really need to boot the Corporate and Banking Lobbyists out of our government.

It never was intended to be a democracy and still isn't. Black males had the right to vote in 1870 and females in 1920 if that's what you're getting at.

That's the parallel for the decline of America.

But its all going to turn out okay in the end. The US will eventually break up into smaller sovereign republics just like the USSR, which was the best thing for the Soviet peoples. Life for them is much better now that they no longer are shackled to a defective and dysfunctional centralized, corrupted system that also could not withstand its own mass and internal flaws.

Americans too will be better off someday. Once what is now decaying has collapsed, regrowth, and new structures can arise in its place.

Like a phoenix from its ashes.
I hate the idea of giving up so much territory to foreign Johnny-come-latelys and communist, but you make the break up sound so good we should start it right away .

True.

My Browns beat the Jets on Thursday. It only felt like it had been forever since their last victory.

There is a large percentage of the left that wants socialism . Just go on twitter and post something pro capitalism and you’ll get a bunch of leftists saying how horrible capitalism is and we should switch to socialism .

Many have a hate for capitalism , what they don’t realize is this country would of never became what it was under socialism .

Actually I am not trying to make the break up sound good, because it will be painful for many people. But it is inevitable so the correct attitude is...you need to prepare for the painful times. The comfortable times don't require much preparation. You can just enjoy them.

But, in times of great change, you need a plan to mitigate issues.

If you have the right plans, you may be able to enjoy even the hard times...while most people will be suffering.

History proves time and time again, that NO superpower/ empire, lasts forever...they all fall eventually, and sometimes the fall is hard.

it's my understanding that the Venetian empire was the longest running empire in history, some 700 years. And it was greed that ended that empire. All it took was a boat trip around the Cape of South Africa to India and that marked the end. Europeans no longer had to pay those stiff tariffs on salt, spices to the Venetians. And look at Venice today, sinking into the sea!

Breaking the country up into 3 parts would be a great experiment for the U.S., one part Republican, one part Democrats and another being Socialistic. The you'd have a choice about what system you wished to live under.

And how dare we prevent the breakup, as look how we cheered over the breakup of the Soviet Union.

Part of me wants to support a breakup of this country. Let the Bible thumpers have their own country where they can create a fundamentalist Christian version of Iran that's every bit as oppressive as North Korea or Afghanistan when the Taliban was in power. Maybe then they will leave the rest of us alone and let us live in the 21st century. Only problem is I currently live in the most religious and most conservative place in the US so if there was to be such a country, it would be here.
