"meaningless corporate tax cuts"
If they are so "meaningless", who do you and OTHERS ON THE LEFT CONSTANTLY COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM?

You can only cut taxes on those who PAY taxes.

Those that pay the MOST in taxes, naturally will get the biggest cut.

Common sense is often deficient to many on the left.

" The GOP""are trying to take away healthcare without offering any healthcare."

Show us in the Constitution where it REQUIRES the U.S. too provide your health care or health care insurance?

You are FREE to shop the private market and pick whichever company you want.

Over 80% of the people get their health care insurance through their employer.

Obama Care is still available, why don't you get it from there?

Rand Paul was in favor of tax cuts to the rich knowing full well the deficit would balloon. He is a hypocrite on a affordability.

What sane person that had expenses higher than revenues would take action to reduce revenues even more?

"Your plan is to renege on our obligations"

What "obligations"?

Technically the 1st respondents were ALL LOCAL NY City, etc employees, so the fed is out of the picture.

Why should the people form the rest of country pay for a NY CITY obligation?

I find a lot of hypocrites on the left at this site.

They DEMAND the fed fed swoop in and help in cases like this and hurricane,, tornados, floods, fires earthquakes, etc., then turn right around and say " Our police will NOT assist ICE, etc, it is NOT our "responsibility".

Paul does not oppose healthcare for first responders, and he has not permanently prevented funding from being authorized. All he has done is delay the bill, so they can have a vote on an amendment to offset the additional spending with cuts elsewhere. This is in complete accordance with Paul’s decades long record as a fiscal hawk and responsible steward of taxpayer money.

Outraged reactionaries need to take a deep breath: The funding for 9/11 responders will still be authorized. All that will happen now is that, rather than passing by a voice vote with unanimous consent as was attempted on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will have to bring the already-passed House bill up for a vote, including a vote on Paul’s amendment to offset spending, after which it will almost certainly become law.

Amash is right - One of the main reasons government is not accountable is that politicians and media oversimplify discussions about legislation. A good example is the 9/11 VCF bill. Everyone agrees government should help compensate victims of the attack, but implementing details are ignored.
Don't confuse them with the FACTS, they CAN'T handle it and you will force them to tun for their "safe" place with their crayons and call their therapists!

Rand Paul is only illustrating perfectly that if you risk your life to save fellow Americans in the wake of an attack and knowingly put yourself in an environment that will cause you life shortening medical issues, the government will tell you to go pound sand.

Balanced budgets don’t matter in this case. The first responders are owed medical care at the very least. You didn’t see Rand Paul in NYC to help. Pathetic.
