I'm not. The medical community has largely been politicized.

The medical community is probably divided between a decent-sized minority that has been politicized and is on board with this, and a significantly larger group that is opposed but is afraid of being "cancelled" or at least can't be bothered to wade into the fray because of the hassle of being shamed and harassed.

Most of the big medical societies have gone off the woke end.

The society has. That she should be treated as a woman in every aspect of life. In the end it doesn't matter if Serena Williams or someone is more physically special wins a gold medal.

When did corporate America get so 'woke'?

If no women (the real kind) speak out in opposition to delusional trans ideology, despite the consequences, then tacit approval of censorious and punitive policies will not only persist, but get worse.
And we will deserve what such cowardice allows.

I remember when the Soviet bloc countries would have distinctly male looking female athletes. I think a few were disqualified. Not sure if they used testosterone or were hermaphrodites.

Olympics-IOC backs transgender weightlifter's selection for Tokyo, says to review rules later

Quote:
The International Olympic Committee on Saturday backed New Zealand's selection of transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard for the Tokyo Olympics despite criticism, saying that under the current rules - which will be reviewed in future - she can compete.

Hubbard is set to become the first transgender athlete to compete at the Games after she was selected for the New Zealand team in the women's super-heavyweight 87+kg category.

The 43-year-old's inclusion has been divisive, with her supporters welcoming the decision while critics have questioned the fairness of transgender athletes competing against women.

"The rules for qualification have been established by the International Weightlifting Federation before the qualifications started," said IOC President Thomas Bach. "These rules apply, and you cannot change rules during ongoing competitions."

Ok if I had a different mindset I could literally be this exact person. I lift but my genetics suck for lifting so it makes it really hard for me. If I entered professional men’s weightlifting contests I couldn’t even place. But what then if I felt that I was so special I deserved a trophy, because shouldn’t everybody get a trophy? I know, what if I transition to being female so I can then compete in women’s weightlifting? I mean I’ve always had more of a woman’s body to start with. That would dramatically lower the competition and I’d retain the advantage of a superior base of muscle memory built as a male.

LOL

Becoming a trans woman would mean a big hit to your social life wouldn't it? I imagine weightlifters and other jocks who transition are pretty much all straights with gynephilia.

You would assume so, but people who reach pro levels in weightlifting tend to not have very big social lives anyway since they spend most of their time at the gym.
