So then the next question is, when Arizona goes blue just like Washington state, where will you move to next?
Blue, like Sinema Blue I'm a 4th generation Arizonan and we have always been conservative, even when my family was mostly Democrats. Screw up your own states
Yea. I've been watching that. FE, Collin County (Plano, Frisco, McKinney etc.) lurched left last cycle. I'll be curious to see if that holds this mid-term.
I think the days of an R governor winning by 20% are over. However, I think it's so blindingly clear that hard left coastal politics don't work very well in the longer term........just maybe that'll slow/stop the blue march. Also, Hispanics voting more red in Texas may be a big deal moving forward.
Colin County went from Romney +31.5 in 2012 to Trump +4.4 in 2020. Colin County was far from alone in swings of that nature. Next door Denton County was also Romney +31.5 in 2012, and while not moving as much as Colin went almost as far to Trump +8.1
Travis County went from Obama +23.9 in 2012 to Biden +45.0
How the areas are trending in the areas where the bulk of the transplants are moving doesn't back up some of the data that they are more Republican than native Texans.

A lot of that was Trump hangover. Although we live in Dallas County I'm a consistent R voter who voted for Biden out of abject fear of another 4 years of Trump.
This isn't what I was talking about but still.........
In 2013, the Texas Tribune and UT Austin conducted a poll surveying the political orientation of California expats. The California arrivals were 57 percent conservative compared to 27 percent liberal. “OK,” one might expect Texans to respond skeptically, “But what about the others?
Tell me about it! My family doctor that I've had for years left Seattle and moved down to rural Arizona citing political reasons. Sucks as he was a great doc.
Yup, Nebraska, Kansas, Ohio and Louisiana are liberal states.
And Oregon, Vermont, Delaware, Maine and Rhode Island are ruby red states.
I know, it hurts to ackowlege the 7 worst states are big ones, & are big losers of future tax receipts, & commerce. Deflecting to other smaller states is much less painful I suppose.
Now those who remain behind need to get ready for massive tax hikes to pay for the upside down pensions in states like NJ, IL, and CT especially. CT has been addressing their pension nightmare, so I commend their Governor Ned Lamont...they still have a long ways to go, but at least he's doing something. IL and NJ are in deep trouble, and can ill-afford this taxpayer exodus.

i moved out of NJ (a state that is so progressive, they can’t even figure out legal weed despite people voting Yes). 5 figure annual property taxes and a governor who wants to give illegal immigrants free college tuition shows that there will never be a plan to reduce the tax burden plus all the other taxes they hit you with and constantly raising tolls. it was beaten into my head that the state is a losing proposition and it was time to move on.
if you want a low cost of living, keep the red states red.
You mean like my 5 figure property taxes here in Tx?
The trend continues. The top 7 states affluent Americans are leaving most, are all Liberal. The reasons given are apolitical, but how to explain why ALL 7 are Liberal high-tax states
NJ, NY, MA, CT, MI, CA, IL, are the top 7 in lost residents.
Just a hunch, but I think the Republicans, & Independents who identify more with Pubs, are the first to leave the Liberal states. I say this because Florida's new voter registrations lean Republican, not Democrat. For the first time in a long time, Republicans now outnumber Democrats in Florida. Florida is a huge inbound state, so carries greater weight than say tiny Vermont.
I say "affluent" Americans because generally speaking, that is who uses Van Lines to move. Less affluent movers typically use their own vehicles, pull behind trailers, and rental trucks.
Who is moving is key, because affuent people pay more in taxes, & possess greater wealth. These 7 Lib states are losing enormous amounts of future taxes, & commerce...Billions worth. That leaves less affluent taxpayers behind to shoulder the tax burden. They will also lose Congressional seats.
For those remaining behind, they are certain to see more tax increases to offset these enormous losses.
I hope that your hunch is correct and they aren't Libs taking their toxic politics with them
:NJ, NY, MA, CT, MI, CA, IL, are the top 7 in lost residents."
You ignored that purposely I'd bet.
The plainly obvious reason they lost more residents is because they are very populous states (maybe not CT so much). You need to look at these things in terms of percentages of people moving in or out, not absolute numbers. Of course the most populous states are going to tend to have more people moving in and out, because they have more people overall.
