So, when will Obama and the Democratic party change their party mascot from the donkey to the hammer and sickle?
Ironically, our country starts looking MORE like the Soviet Union if we install missile defense systems in other sovereign countries. It's also clearly against the wishes of our founding fathers, but neo-con RINOs don't pay attention to this and use 9/11 as an excuse of trashing what folks like Jefferson said about the perils of entangling alliances.

A polish tabloid........ oh well......

They say " Kaczynski expressed hopes that the U.S. will now offer Poland other forms of "strategic partnership."

And I say why? Why do they feel we owe them something? Who ever said the US is an ATM machine for Poland?

We don't owe them anything, and there is no need for us to appease every eastern European country out there. If they want missiles, then can ask Germany and France to supply them.

You didn't see the election night party in front of the White House by our indoctrinated university students carrying soviet flags?

oh, BTW-Ahmadinejad vows that Israel will not last long.

What in God's name is going on in DC? Everyday I feel a little less safe with this administration in power. God help us all!

What an idiot. We were going to install a missle defense (see the word defense) in another nation with that nation's permission. Russia never bothered to ask for permission to go into any country to set up whatever weapons they had for their own purposes.

There was evidence the majority of people in those countries did not want such a defense system. Also, RINOs cannot escape the fact that we are in a precarious position with regards to our fiscal situation brought on by both Bush and Obama. What say you about our founding fathers' opinion on entangling alliances? Are you in the same camp as the liberals and Herr Hitler in saying the constitution and founding fathers could not anticipate our modern day situation? This whole concept of creating alliances is a rather recent trend and has already pitted huge portions of the world against each other.

Poles, Czechs: US missile defense shift a betrayal

It certainly is that.

Obama will stop at nothing to curry the favor of bad guys around the world.
Sanrene, I advise you not to take media outlets like Hospodářské noviny too seriously. In recent years, they've been turning more and more into a hysterical rightist tabloid. Too bad - they used to be good. Now their opinion page serves as a laughing stock to everyone with half a brain. If you spoke Czech you could look at their website and read discussions under the articles that cry and whine over Obama's decision. People make fun of them.

In my book there's only one journalist in Hospodářské noviny who deserves to be respected (Jan Macháček - a smart pro-business guy) and he wrote a column yesterday where he praises the decision as a rational and realistic one.

Well, some have claimed that Obama is merely following Jimmy Carter's example. How many nations did the Soviet Union and Communism expand into during Carter's four years?

You mean the same founding fathers who were allied with France during the American Revolution against England?

The idiocy is spending American $$$ to defend other countries while our own has so many things that need doing. Too bad we didn't ask permission to go into other countries, we'd probably have $$$ available to work on our own problems.
