Sincere request, Could somebody please post some articles that explains WHY the Bush gov't spent a lot of time trying to cover up global warming? I haven't been able to find much on Google. Thanks in advance.
Cover up global warming?
The Bush admin was trying to expose the TRUTH - AGW (anthropogenic global warming) is a FRAUD.
10 year old emails saved? Russian hackers? Smells more like a Anti-GW conspiracy/forgery.
Forgery? Freaking serious? Do you actually know what you are saying? You think someone took the time to recreate 1079 whooopping emails with another 79 attachments. Then they cross-referenced scientists' emails and their employers, and were able to quote unavailable scientific sources/data and then run the facade and do it consistently and in character across 1000 plus correspondences?
If that's where you are going, you deserve tin foil hat.
Dr. Mann, a professor at Pennsylvania State, confirmed in an interview that the e-mail was real. He said the choice of words by his colleague was poor but noted that scientists often use the word “trick” to refer to a good way to solve a problem, “and not something secret.” “It sounds incriminating, but when you look at what you’re talking about, there’s nothing there,” Dr. Mann said.
Dr. Jones, writing in an e-mail, declined to be interviewed and pasted in the university’s statement.
Gosh, wouldn't it have been to know you would be using "tricks" in creating your Hockey Stick?
Of course there's "nothing there", Mr Mann - how could we not believe you? It not only "sounds" incriminating, IT IS incriminating.

good lord this is funny!
cover up what? that Keith Briffa and Phil Jones are liars!
yea GWB covered up global warming like the snow covered that sign that says "stop global warming"
All I've seen so far is cherry picking "phrases & comments" and out of context 'suggestions'.
From your linked article:
"Gavin Schmidt, a research scientist with NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, says the e-mails offer no damning indictment of climate researchers, and that bloggers are reading information in them out of context. There’s nothing in the e-mails that shows that global warming is a hoax, there’s no funding by nefarious groups. There’s no politics in any of these things; nobody from the UN telling people what to do. There’s nothing hidden, no manipulation. It’s just scientists talking about science, and they’re talking relatively openly as people in private e-mails generally are freer with their thoughts than they would be in a public forum".
No Smoking Gun Found
You realize this guy is a part of that group, don't you? He runs a blog, realclimate, independent of NASA and is in cahoots with the rest of them, supporting the effort to push AGW.
Here's his website.....the comment section is getting interesting.....
2. You can delete this attachment if you want. Keep this quiet also, but this is the person who is putting in FOI requests for all emails Keith and Tim have written and received re Ch 6 of AR4. We think we’ve found a way around this.
And then he tells all involved to delete the emails.....a crime supposedly.
Two quotes by Michael Mann... The first goes back ten years when he was accused of the "trick"
The second quote was this week talking about the "trick" that Phil Jones refers too....
anybody see a problem here?
Quote:
"No researchers in this field have ever, to our knowledge, "grafted the thermometer record onto" any reconstrution. It is somewhat disappointing to find this specious claim (which we usually find originating from industry-funded climate disinformation websites) appearing in this forum."
