Last time I checked there were PLENTY of people in Canada, Japan, Sweden, England and so on and so forth, who could still afford food and a decent place to live. I think you need a clue.

Like we needed more proof of the Dumbing Down of America.

Well, there never is a shortage of that

There cannot be a system in which one group supports another and gladly accepts the burden of another man's problems. History has shown us this much.

Sadly, the leftists will be unhappy with the system that they crave and will eventually wake up. Keep in mind (for those who have not read Marx) that Marx lamented the fall of feudalism, such that the serfs were liberated from "thier rightful superiors". Socialism is not a system of freedom, it is one of servitude. Those who like to live under the yoke of an authoritarian government in exchange for "treats' are welcome to do so. The rest of us will be seeking the system upon which the nation was founded, and that was not the Socials States of America.
Bravo!!! I couldn't have said it better.

Your melodramatic "sky is falling" dog and pony show does not work on me. And what's with the "socialist commie" combination? It doesn't even make sense.
Wait till your HC insurance premiums increase 40%.

Maybe if the Republicans would spend less time trying to sabotage President Obama and more time trying to find solutions which benefit the majority of Americans (and not just the uberwealthy) then maybe they would have accomplished something from 2000-2008. But the truth is that they spend way too much time glad handing and congratulating each other for being Masters of the Universe to care about the average American.

The Republican party consistently uses the average Joe angry White male to do their dirty work as the party foot soldiers yet none of the Republicans introduce/pass legislation that benefits these average Joes.

Sad.

Your 2nd paragraph might be the most truthful item I've ever read on City-Data.
