As a Seahawk fan, I still would have called that an interception. More obvious and missed was the obvious offensive pass interference when Tate shoved a defender to the ground just before the catch. Most of the second half they missed all kinds of holding by the Packers offense, in response to the 9 sacks in the first half. With decent ref calls the whole game who knows how it would have turned out? The bottom line is that both teams have to live with the calls, right or wrong. It's time for the NFL to get it together and settle with the real refs so this kind of controversy goes away.
Not sure regular refs would have called the shove on Tate. Most of the time they eat their whistles on the end of a game play.

Exactly. I watched the replay over and over again this morning. Jennings clearly caught the pass. Tate had his hand trapped underneath - that is NOT considered a simultaneous catch. No matter how much some people in this thread want to believe otherwise, it just wasn't a TD. Go on Youtube.com and watch for yourself.

My thing is, with one ref calling TD, and the other ref calling an "official's timeout" when he waved his hands sideways, which indicates timeout and touchback. Why didn't the two of them huddle up and discuss it?
And then the call from upstairs in the replay booth comfirned the TD?
The striking referees are well compensated now, receiving an avg of $150K for a part time job along with all expense paid, first class travel benefits. There's plenty of greed in the NFL not the least of which is a part time employee striking because they want their boss to provide a fully funded pension vs. contributing to a 401k program on their own. The NFL is also providing a 7% annual pay increase as part of their offer. Ironically enough, the NFL also wants to be able to sit a referee for poor on-field performance which the striking refs are opposed to.
True - it takes two to have a disagreement - and I am one against ANY pension where you collect money for no productivity. However - are they worth it (aside of the pensions) in the whole scheme of things? The more time rolls on with these replacements, the more leverage they gain.

Well this wouldn't be occuring if there were no unions involved.
Are the refs getting more than they deserve? It's all about the worth given to them by the customer. Entertainment is big business in this country and people are willing to pay (what I think are) ungodly prices for this stuff. Right now the customers are OK with paying the refs what they want since the quality of the entertainment product is suffering.
And why do people have to be red-necks? Just make your point.
The owners' point has been that these refs are interchangeable parts. Replacing the NFL refs with upper-echelon officials from D-I would've drastically improved the quality of the officiating, but for whatever reason the league couldn't do that and instead chose officials from the bottom of the barrel.
