Punta Gorda bank robber sought

Punta Gorda police are searching for a man who robbed a bank Monday afternoon.
The robbery occurred shortly before 1:15 at Busey Bank on Tamiami Trail.
Bank staff reported the man entered the bank and implied he had a weapon. It is unknown if the man was on foot or had a vehicle nearby.
The suspect is described as white, wearing a white hoodie marked "North Ft. Myers," sunglasses, and jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Punta Gorda Police Department at 941-639-4111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. Tips provided to Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest are eligible for cash rewards.
