One of the reasons we purchased in PGI was because we felt, and heard, that it is/was one of the safest places to live in SWFL. With the events recently, we're wondering if this is an anomaly or a trend.

We're hoping for the former...

At least the my Bears beat the Packers this week. Going back wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, since the games are probably on at Stateville. (think Blues Brothers)

Seriously, this is all concerning. Judging by the way this guy was dressed, he looks more like some suburban kid looking for a weekend at Key West money.

Any chance this was the same guy who did the 7 Eleven crime? Looks similar in build.

That's one of the reasons I like FL better than MD; I can carry if I so choose (yes, I do have a CCW permit). Even though I retired from law enforcement I can't carry in MD!

Default Robbery on Scott St. Punta Gorda

On November 24, 2015 at approximately 4:31 p.m., Punta Gorda Police Officers responded to Lords and Ladies Salon which is located at 6210 Scott St. unit 212 in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred. The store owner reported a white male entered the store, demanding cash while brandishing a handgun. It is unknown if the male was on foot or had a vehicle around the corner.
The male was described as a white male, thin build, wearing a hat, white shirt, and jeans. He was also described as clean cut with no tattoos or piercings and pale in color with light colored eyebrows.

Please contact Detective Justin Davoult with the Punta Gorda Police Department at 941-639-4111 or SW Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS if you have any information about this incident. Tips provided to Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest are eligible for cash rewards.
