I think this ends up in court even if the covenants are reinstated.

The goal will be to delay, delay, delay, and hope for a more friendly BOC in 2020.

WRAL posted an editorial on the situation. It mentions "It was settling a political feud at the cost of the taxpayers and the quality of life of the county." but doesn't go so far to name the donors who were upset at the last board.

the main donors have been named, and readily admitted they took exception to the park deal.

Correct, I was just stating Dean Debnam and Ann Campbell were not mentioned in the WRAL piece.

I wonder what Dean and Ann would say about the recent news that WCPSS enrollment has gone flat.

well, if you tell the NCGA you need $ for 2K more students, and they give it to you (at the same apportionment they give all counties), and then the next year you say "well, but..." then your expectations should change.

So Wake County funded WCPSS at some level measurably > 2018 projection but < 2019 request. And that made these 2 folks, plus other school "advocates" unhappy for "underfunding", ie - not giving WCPSS what they asked for.

we'll see.

Facebook says Wake County is proposing a deal where the land will be granted to the Town of FV, passing on the cost of developing the land as a park to FV.

Seems like a good compromise.
