Any positive or negative attitudes towards has a lot to do with how an individual is raised and the social forces that shape him or her as they grow up.
Sex differs for many people. For the first 10 years having sex, it was not pleasurable at all. I then got to where it got more pleasurable but it was at lot of work getting there.
I still have issues with sex and its rarely as enjoyable as it should be without any pain, discomfort, soreness, bad friction, swelling or irritation.
And I have been checked out dozens of times. Physically, my body just has issues with penetration.
This is not normal (it's called dyspareunia) and can be corrected
This could be normal if the person has not had a lot of sex. Don't you guys remember your first few times. I know it was not perfectly smooth if you know what I mean

Exactly.
The dominant social force is religion.
Other nations, such as those in Europe, have less stigmas, phobias, and complexes regarding sex. America is a sexually dysfunctional nation.

That could be it, I didn't have penetrative sex often b/c it was so painful.... Maybe I just need to do it several more times before I can rule it out as a medical condition. We'll see.
How am I generalizing? I said most women (not ALL), and I'm always careful about making comments without having the facts first. I've heard enough experiences where this is the case.
When you're young and inexperienced and have not yet experienced an orgasm, intercourse can be painful and not pleasurable. I'm sure that with time, once you've loosened up a bit (pun intended ), even if you don't experience an orgasm, it can be enjoyable.
