Most of my nerdy friends also happen to be pretty nerdy about their guns as well. They are more than fit to protect their respective women.

Sure- loong as he isn't a wuss/pushover/spineless than sure. Nothing wrong with a smart guy, or one that's into things that could be considered geeky.

I like some things that aren't considered cool, or adult, etc.

Women like guys who are good-looking. A nerd will be perceived either as an intelligent guy or a creepy loser depending on whether he's good-looking. One of the guys I knew who, without even trying, always had a trail of attractive women lined up to bang him, was a major video game addict, spent most of his day playing Xbox Live. Women liked him because he was good-looking.

I am marrying one!

We also actually shoot handguns together. I think he can protect me, but I can also protect myself.

Honestly it's what the woman is attracted to.

This person can be a good guy and hold a good job. A great thinker. But usually aren't too street smart(about the social norms of every day life).

Could you date a person like this?
Yes I would. Maybe I could get out my old Atari 7800....it's gotta be either in my mom's basement or my grandparents' attic. He'd probably get a kick out of that.

No seriously, I'd play his new stuff from GameStop or whatever he rented from Redbox.

Oh and you know what I think my grandmother saved my old My Little Pony toys too so if I dated a Brony I would look for those to show him.

Getting birthday and holiday gifts for him would be so easy. Just get something from a local comic book store or games from Target or something.
