It takes no effort to not have your car be a rolling landfill, for example. If the floor is your trashcan, it speaks volumes about the person, IMHO. The vast majority of slobs I've met over the years are also unreliable in general and simply unable to get their acts together; it may sound cruel, but those are my experiences. And it's not surprising; if a person cannot find the time or energy to get the trash out of their car or not have it lying around their house, where will they find the time, energy, or interest in doing much of anything with their life?
Now, I'll cut some slack for people with kids, and obviously the elderly or people who are ill, handicapped, etc. But when people of sound body and mind just live in filth for no good reason, it's not a good sign at all.

My house is too small for the amount of stuff we have in it. We have pared it down considerably but there are still boxes, bins, shelves-full, and stuff everywhere you look. Not everywhere like a hoarder. We have normal furniture, kitchen counters, etc.
Someone up thread said something about having clear horizontal spaces. What are horizontal spaces for if not to hold things? What's the point of a coffee table, for example, if you can't put a magazine or book or coasters for your drinks on it?
I'm sure there are places in my house that have more dust than they should. We don't move furniture to clean behind it very often, etc. However, no dirty dishes in the sink, no laundry on the floor, vacuum regularly, scrubbed bathrooms... nothing is gross, just full. Would definitely drive neat freak people crazy though.
Yes. There was a rather attractive girl at a bar the other night (standing next to her, a buddy, and her friend) and her hair literally smelled like gizz. It was so gross I had to leave the table because it was so bad.

Eeewwwwww! Okay, now that's absolutely DISGUSTING. This goes far beyond someone being a "slob" or being "messy"...

Gizz? Sperm?
I think you put a teaspoon of that in front of me and I wouldn't be able to identify the smell.....
