I do not think the OP is prepared to be a mother. I advise her to reconsider aborting the fetus.

OP

Just tell him you're pregnant. Also, mention that you are fearful of his reaction.

Remember you've had three months to process this pregnancy, he hasn't so I would not expect the greatest of reactions.

Good luck

Manipulative ... maybe but avoidant and immature for sure. It definitely doesn't go along with her portrayal of the two of them as best friends and "soulmates."

Perhaps manipulative isn't the correct word. But it does speak to an attempt to control the situation, rather than simply share information.

Hey, breaking bad news is never pleasant. But putting it off makes it worse.

Mod cut.

The thing about a pregnancy is that there is no "controlling it." She's been avoiding something that can't be avoided. It's sad but you're exactly right ... bad news does not get better over time.

There IS the off chance it WON'T be bad news, though.

Mod cut.

Why isnt communication a top priority in relationships anymore??? Im old fashioned because i believe in courting but OPs type of behavior is somehow better!? At least in Courtship, you would not be pregnant and would learn to TALK.

Poor kid. Just tell the dad, if he wants nothing to do with you because you kept a horrible secret from him, and essentially lied to him, that's life. You had sex with him so you should be able to talk to him.

I doubt missing the birth control *one time* made the birth control fail.
Just in case though I wonder why you are with a *soul mate* you can't communicate openly with.

I hear saying "I'm pregnant" works pretty well.
