Go ahead and say to GOD (to those who believe in him) or even a higher power (to those who believe in that way) when the end times come that "I have this and that and well as many other Earthly things" see how far it gets you. The rest who don't believe in a higher power won't care what I said here.

Have a GREAT Day!
You are 100% right. That is why I would guess the vast majority of wealthy people are headed for the fiery flames of Hell. There is nothing God detests more than selfishness.

I agree 100%. Popular culture in this country is pathetic. I have watched virtually no network TV for about 40 years, and feel I am a much better person for it. And movies, that ---- is even worse!!!!!!!! Can you imagine how much we could have done for the good in this country if we had gotten away from our diversions and spent our time helping others?

I think you are being way too hard on the man. He has the right to express his preferences, and that is all he is doing, he is not trying to imply superiority.

Well, my interests tend to deal with things like books, music, political theory, history, and other things. That's not to say that a person without a college degree wouldn't be interested in those subjects, nor is that to say that same person hasn't learned those things on her own

So the premise of the question here seems to be that having a college education is the same thing as intellectually curious. I don't know if I agree with that wholly. And I certainly don't think a college diploma makes one interesting and enjoyable to be around. At the same time, autodidacts are a lot harder to find in this world. For if somebody didn't have the basic motivation to attend college, at least for a few semesters, what are the odds they've enjoyed in-depth study of a variety of subjects? So for every Bill Gates out there who dropped out of college and started a Microsoft or enjoyed some other success in life through the use of their imagination and intellect, there are literally thousands who didn't.

I agree, most women are not well versed in this area, but thats partially because society and the media, by pushing people like Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, and others down our throats convince women that dumb ditzes are still what is preferred. Im sorry about all of these posts in a row, but I am going to be busy later today and might be done posting for today.

lol... i understand how our society works. our society is shallow.

i don't see what i'm saying is so bad. i respect intellectual prowess in others, why is that so bad? is it of no inherent good? maybe, who knows? but without products of the mind or reasoning, we wouldn't have anything of value in the world.

You don't have to have a college education to be intelectual. There are many members of Mensa who are your average Joes with no higher education background.
