The person Rakin was talking about is a woman who was taking advantage of men. If she wanted to take the gifts - great, she should take them - but to accept the gifts, then turn around and return them for cash is just classless.
My "puritanical view" is something call morals and conscience. I don't take money from men just because there are men out there who are willing to give it.
Morals and conscience are all in your head. In this particular situation anyway. If you don't do it, that's your choice, but you are not thinking clearly if you want others to follow your way of being. The way you think is nonsense to some of us.
