I recently got a new phone, my first android. My other sort of smart phone will be kept since so many people and places have the number, but I'm tired of trying to find a good quality no longer produced phone.

But I had to call the consumer c people for help on doing basic things. I still keep it very simple and haven't tried major features. It will do a net search, but brought up a LOT of undesireble stuff, and I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it and do my internet on my trusty laptop now.

The thing about the new phone is that somehow it had all the data from the old one loaded to it, so all my contacts are there, and its simple which means its chief reason has been dealt with. I have read messages on the phone and am using it to delete all the stuff which builds like a rising volcano filled with emails...

Why not simply have your old number ported over to the new phone? There is no reason to get a new number when you change phones, unless you want to change numbers. I keep the same number whether I'm getting a new phone and/or changing providers.
