I don't know if you are trying to be funny but this is low key insulting to your wife. It's like saying your wife has no reason to exist outside of washing your dirty drawers.
Your purpose in life should be to develop a sense of humor!
I really don't get into the big, overarching religious type concepts of "why I'm here."
I was kind of into that for years. My personal belief is that there was some sort of creator being that spun things up, but is not actively intervening in our daily lives. Beyond that, I don't subscribe to any specific dogma.
I look at things like this - I really have no influence over things on a large scale. I try to do the best I can for myself, those in my immediate circle (friends, family), and those in my immediate community.
For me, the meaning is local and among those I choose to associate with.
For all the people who have commented on my post asking to not turn it into a religious thing...... I've noticed your religion has not taught you about judging others.
That is OK. Because God forgives us and blesses us every day.
For those of you who believe in a loving God, as I do.
who are you accusing of judging others? I see no one doing that.
Also, you don't need to be religious to forgive others. Try it
The op stated "I do not intend for this thread to turn into a religious discussion"
Trust me, she meant to discriminate against Christianity and other religious beliefs which encompass "purpose". Without GOD, your purpose is whatever you decide it to be which is scary, imho.
There is a religion forum, you want to talk about your religious beliefs, go there and do it, not here. The OP politely asked to keep that nonsense off their thread.
My purpose in life is to be a peacemaker, as I'm always the one in the middle who tries to get others to get along. Or at least it is what I'm good at (maybe not much of a purpose, per se) .

Such a nice description. Thanks!
It doesn't take religion to be a good person or to do good work in your community.
"why I'm here?":

I don't really want to talk religion, don't partake of those discussions hence why I don't post there.
I did want to freely be able to answer the question. Seems fair enough. As others said, it is difficult to start this topic then set rules
of receiving only certain responses. You pretty much know what is coming, it's just being purposefully obtuse.
Anyhow I need to leave now to go for my morning walk
I don't really want to talk religion, don't partake of those discussions. I did want to be included in being able to answer this question though. Seems fair enough to me.
I wouldn't ever start a thread telling people not to discuss this or that as their answer. It's bad form.
It's also bad form to start whining about 'discrimination", as most alleged 'Christians' on this forum suffer from an acute persecution complex.
And, of course, every parent knows part of their job description is to embarrass their children.
BaaaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaa........I love this
A Mother's revenge. LOLOLOL
