Congrats Janet, you made it! I still have the rest of the year and time just seems to be standing still right now. But I know I will be emotional when it comes clearing out my office and saying goodbye to folks I see everyday, I can understand what you are saying.....just remember your friends here on CD will be here everyday for you!
Sheesh! Today was assigned to an investigation of another senior staff member. What a pain. Was thinking I could relax the final 70 days. Now this on top of prepping to come back to the USA, get my medical exams, staff evaluations, etc etc completed before retirement (from US Army). The positive from this new assignment is that it'll make the days go by even more quickly. Long, hard days seem to blur into each other nowadays. Before you know it, my 30 June date will be here soon (I hope).

June 30th was my retirement day from last year, Buc. It will arrive and the following year will just zoom by. I can't believe that it's been almost a whole year already. It's wonderful . . . .

Well, I made it through my last day! It seems a little bit unreal. I told some co-workers I was planning on stopping by the restaurant where my daughter works for happy hour, and a lot of them decided to join me. Not a retirement party, but it did turn into a bit of a celebration, and it was fun. Thanks so much for everyone's encouragement. I still can't believe it's real. I feel a great sense of relief, along with a feeling of anticipation for what is to come. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and the advice. Wow! I'm retired!

Hang in there BucFan. Being busy does help get you through the days. Not sure - are you the next one in the group to go? June will be here before you know it. It's weird how each day can seem to last forever, but the weeks seem to pass by so quickly.
Congratulations from over here in Germany.
