This is an old article, but I wonder if its getting worse. There is so much heroin out here now. I didn't know cartels had a presence though. I feel like with the soft on crime Seattle city govt this might turn into mini-Chicago.
Heroin bringing violent Mexican drug cartels to Western Washington | KIRO-TV

"Meth and heroin DEA seizures in our state have increased from 128 pounds of meth and 26 pounds of heroin in 2008 to 250 pounds of meth and 273 pounds of heroin in 2013."

The bust examples were Everett and Marysville, no surprise to anyone that has spent time in either of those cities.

Seattle council members fully support the cartels by their initiative to push for sanctioned places for drug addicts to shoot up on heroine. As it is, SPD often doesn't criminalize drug use because drug addicts are a protected class in this city. Now heroine use is virtually legal in Seattle. It's a Mexican drug cartel's dream come true!

I saw 3 people buying heroin on the way to the store today. It's obviously coming from somewhere. Our city council appears to be on the cartel payroll. They won't do anything about the heroin dealing, but want to make it easier for people to use.

Yep, I worked in Everett for a while and I'm not surprised at this at all.
