I never thought I would ever see gas below 3.50 a gallon the rest of my life.
Even here in this crazy state of CA, gas has dropped to $1.96. Of course the politicians are crying the blues, because the cheaper the gas, the less sales tax is collected....so guess who is talking about raising the tax on gas
Very good point. I would like to see electric cars and the hybrid technology be improved and more widespread. This would save a lot of fuel and will help us become more self sufficient from an energy standpoint. We can use the energy from the wind farms to power our electric cars. As everyone knows: South Dakota has a lot of wind and tremendous potential to turn an annoyance (the wind) into a cash cow for our state and help provide a cleaner avenue of energy production and cut foriegn oil dependence for our great nation.
There is alot of potential. Instead of getting rid of gasoline altogether, we use every energy source we can find and refine it to make it cleaner and work better. There is potential. The question is will we do it?
I think that we can. It may be a challenge for our society and especially for some who are unwilling to move forward, but I think that our society can if we put our minds to it. I would like to see alternative sources become mainstreem and be another alternative to oil. I do not think that we should abruptly end oil use, but phase it out over time and have alternative sources and electric vehicles be available in addition to oil. Regarding oil, I am for domestic drilling and production along with partnering with Canada to lessen our need for overseas oil and have a stable source oil source.
