This thread has definitely been done, but I guess its okay to rekindle the fire every now and then. I like Racanelli's and Deweys alot, but I also feel that both have increased their prices in recent years to a point that, for me, a $9 manager special from Papa Johns or Dominos has about equal utility. La Pizza is another one of those good non-stl style pizza joints that I will shop occasionally. Curious to hear others thoughts, though, because I am trying to find a new regular place to shop for pizza (specifically in mid-county).

Cicero's in University City is the winner, hands down. Best pizza in town. Over 100 types of beer. Great service and decent prices. And the best part - they have joined the 21st centuty and are now 100 percent smoke-free, so you can enjoy your meal without smelling like a landfill later!

I like Black Thorn, good Chicago style pizza. It's really a bar though, and finding a table can be a problem. Last time we had to stand at the bar to eat.

Onesto and Pi are two of my favorites. It's probably cliche to say Pi since it's apparently President Obama's favorite pizza, so I'll go with Onesto. It's close to where I live, has a pleasant atmosphere, and the pizza is wonderful.

I love Feraro's in Soulard and Maurizio's downtown.

Once again, Dinsdale, neither use provel or thin crust.

I think I may have eaten at Feraros. It wasn't too bad.

Any recommendations for my neck of the woods (no Racanellis or Stephaninas)

Just had Dewey's again last night. Pizza is awesome but I swear they undercook the stuff. I even asked for it "well done" and they still don't cook it enough.

Next time, ask for it "blackened" and you should be good to go!

Joanie's Pizzeria, in historic Soulard. Best pizza I've ever had in St. Louis. That and also pizza at Dewey's and Guido's Pizzeria. The Hill has excellent Italian food of all kinds, including pizza. There's also a place on Hampton Ave. south of I-44 called Joey's, and Gino's a few miles farther south on Hampton. Also Love IMO's and Pointer's. Just don't go to UNO's...hehe, if people find out you came here to get deep-dish, you likely stand the same chance of being tarred and feathered as a Cubs fan hehehe. St. Louis has a pretty big resentment towards Chicago, my guess is it goes all the way back to us being mad at ourselves for allowing Chicago to eclipse us after the World's Fair and become the capital of the Midwest, something we decided to forego and likely will never get back.

My favorites change constantly, but I have to say it might be Ferraro's Jersey Pizza in Soulard. Pi and Deweys are both good, upscale places. Like Cicero's too. Havn't tried Black Thorn yet. That is next ... maybe in the next month or two. Trying to eat healthy right now .
