I'm not surprised, as it was just a bunch of media hype.
Yup, I figured that would happen. People were getting mad at me when I was saying they were making a big deal. We're not anywhere near a coast where massive problems would be a concern. We really saw the least of it. I have friends in the Capital Region and NE PA and they lost power. My mom lives in south Jersey and she had water pouring in her windows, but surprisingly didn't lose power at all.
I kept noticing that reporters (especially on CNN) were always standing in knee high water, but if you look 100 feet to their left or behind them, it was dry. Yes, some bad things happened, but not as much as the media showed.
One reporter showed that he almost couldn't stand up straight because the wind was blowing so hard and then a group of people walk by him and didn't seem to feel the same winds.
4 shootings and 3 stabbings in the past 24 hours... in the middle of the week? What is going on out there?
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Sometimes things happen in bunches like that, but i'm wondering if there is a bunch of rtaliation incidents or individuals just going wild on their own.
So I just got a ToT-er who had to at least be in his early teens with a younger friend. He was taller than me. As they're leaving, this was our exchange...
Him: Excuse me, but do you like cabbage?
Me: ??? Umm... cabbage?
Him: Yep, cabbage.
Me: No...
I actually do like cabbage but was worried what would happen if my answer was yes lol. So weird, but I got a kick out of it
So some of the full effect of how hard Sandy hit Downstate is starting to come out now.
People are so freaking stupid these days even I can't get my mind around it. Up here we were warned about this one and we got a ton more fun filled storms over the next six months.
In my house we heard the warnings and did some basic things. Most was already done but we filled the cars with gas we will use anyway, grabbed some extra water that we use anyway, some canned stuff we use anyway and made sure we had kerosene for the heaters and made sure they worked. Also made sure we had some cash on hand, when the power went out a couple years ago I learned the hard way how important this is in a debit card World.
The people who did the above or more rode out the storm in relative comfort. The idiots who did nothing are all over the news.
I think Darwin is probing.
Upstaters who get caught with there pants around there ankles are even worse. We have only had what about 5 thousand years warning that we are gonna get hit with big Winter storms?? Lets see, its around zero, the power is likely to go out at some point (afew hours is all thats needed up here) and you didn't have a heat source that doesn't require electricity on hand?? And you say your pipes froze up?? Say that is weird.
When the center was in Syracuse I could swap disc in three days every single time.
