I tried buying a generator Friday and yesterday. Everywhere is sold out. Not really a huge deal. Longest I've seen power out here was like 4 days back in 98 during the Labor Day storm.
Got my camping gear so cooking and COFFEE will be available.
Very worried about the flooding but trying not to think about that part.
If all goes well it will be kinda fun. Something goes wrong, not so much.
I brought my outside furniture into my enclosed porch and bought some beer. Shandy in honor of Sandy, lol I crack myself up I lived in Florida for a few years and went through that one year where we had about 6 hurricanes direct hit us. This is nothing.
I guess, but what I find to be odd is that it is supposed to be in the mid 50's later in the day and I believe in the low 60's tomorrow. So, maybe we will only get a little bit of rain.
The pink sky this morning is a sign of bad things, but I am still not worried. North Syracuse has canceled afternoon activities. They are the first in the area I have seen so far.

The sky totally freaked me out this morning - I thought I was seeing things and then the radio station I was listening to started talking about it.
I'm going to pick up some candles just in case we lose power tonight, but other than that I'm still not worried either. Don't even know if the stores will have candles. They were saying on the radio that people were getting into fights over batteries
I see Sandy is tracking right over Syracuse by the national weather service. I am not sure how much of an impact it will have on CNY, but I know you guys are tough and will get threw the storm.
It seems like it is hybrid Hurricane/Noreaster which could be huge, make sure you have the following items:
At least a 3-day and preferably a 7-day supply of water (one gallon per person per day)
Non-perishable food
Formula, diapers, and other baby supplies
Manual can opener
First aid kit
Prescription and non-prescription medicines
Toiletries
Cell phones and battery-powered cell phone chargers
Battery-powered radios and flashlights
Plenty of batteries
Extra cash
Blankets, sleeping bags, books, and games (especially if evacuating)
Good luck to everyone, our thoughts and prayers are with each of you!
Just left the new Price Rite and it Is alright. It seems similar to Aldi with brand name products. Affordable prices, it is 11 cents for a bag and clean, thus far. I think it would have been a better fit for the old Pond Street Wegmans space and if given the right space, could possibly work Downtown.
