On a show where alien serum was used to restore a man who had been dead way too long to revive a body in any other way, nobody's really dead unless tptb for the show want them gone. And shows don't always give you a tiny clue as a heads up.

Yes, but those were two "special" people. In this case, Grant has shot four people in cold blood. I don't think the alien bio is going to be used to revive all of them. I think he's a case of "the lead character you didn't expect to be taken out in the first season."
My girlfriend thinks that the last murder scene was faked so that Ward could go undercover in HYDRA.
Maybe. If you noticed, Ward and Coulson exchanged a heavy look before he left.
Did the look mean "I know who you are and I'm coming for you next?"
Did the look mean "Hand is HYDRA too; take her out?"
Or did it mean something else entirely?
I don't think Coulson would give an order to kill innocents just to place a sleeper agent.
I hope Ward is a bad guy. That's a good twist not rarely seen on mainstream network TV. I still think it was written very poorly, but it was a good twist.

I think that was a "this doesn't make up for you shooting an innocent man, but we'll deal with it later" look.
Thanks for your comments! I went onto a website for more info on this show and the opinions on there were similar to what has been posted here: Ward may have gone undercover, but how does that excuse killing the others? Oh, well, they were actually Hydra, not Garrett......or Ward turned bad, nice twist in storyline.....don't forget significant look shared by Ward and Coulson, could mean this was planned.....etc. Many, many posts were made! Sorry but don't remember exactly which site it was....it was about 4 am when I was looking!

Reason: spelling
After watching the latest Captain America movie I see the writers of the show are coordinating with the writers of the Marvel movies after seeing what happened to Nick Fury.
Last night's episode ... . I can't decide if this show is poorly written or poorly acted or a little bit of both, but something is definitely not clicking. It says something about your high tech action adventure show when the only plausible moments involve Patton Oswalt.
