I've been a big critic of Cutter, but don't think he deserved to be eliminated that episode. Sort of ironic because he's deserved to be eliminated at least 5 or 6 times at this point, and then he finally gets eliminated after doing pretty well.
The challenge loss was Leslie's fault more than Cutter's. Leslie is a spectacular cook, but his head is so far up his @%^ that he simply can't work with most other people. This isn't the first time where he's completely failed to communicate with his teammate. He just thinks the other person should be able to magically read his mind and they should be able to sync up with no effort whatsoever. The only times that Leslie has done well in team challenges is when he has totally ceded authority to someone else (e.g. Elizabeth) and offered no resistance at all.
Obviously, the judges are more knowledgeable than us, but I thought Cutter did very well in the elimination challenge. It certainly wasn't a case where Leslie ran away with it.
Cutter has struck me as playing the blame-game a lot throughout the season, but he went out in a classy way. For once he didn't blame everyone else and gave credit where it was due. So funny enough, I kind of found myself rooting for him for the first time this season just as he was getting eliminated.
Frankly, I think all three the remaining contestants could write an excellent cook-book, but Elizabeth would be the best 'face of the franchise' (and is probably the best overall anyway). I don't think Leslie would be a bad winner at all. He's abrasive, but he'd sell himself well and his arrogance isn't really that different than a lot of other talented chefs.
The fact that Courtney is a stripper doesn't bother me. The fact that she seems to have a duplicitous personality and would stab someone in the back in the heartbeat does. She's a great cook, but I would definitely have concerns about her being a 'face of the franchise' if I were involved with Masterchef.
Too bad for Leslie. He didn't forget salt this time....Unfortunately, salt wasn't the key missing ingredient this time around. It's a little ironic really.
LOL I thought to myself, "I hope Elizabeth wins, but if it's Courtney, that will be hilarious." Mostly, because I figured people here would freak out.
