If legislation is extended in its current form, when you exhaust Tier 1 from the 2010 claim, you will receive Tier 1 on the most recent claim - provided you begin that 2nd Tier 1 before the 2013 bye.

Don't know what Q&A you're referring to, but our Q&A says NO SUCH THING. This is what is says:
Quote:
September 2, 2012-January 5, 2013:*
Tier 1 - 54% of original monetary determination (up to 14 weeks)
Tier 2 - 54% of original monetary determination (up to 14 weeks)
Tier 3 - 35% of original monetary determination (up to 09 weeks)
Tier 4 - 39% of original monetary determination (up to 10 weeks)

The weekly benefit rate remains the same throughout the life of the claim.

Tier benefits are a percentage of the original monetary determination, divided by the weekly benefit amount, to arrive at the actual number of weeks available per tier. A smaller claim may not receive the full 20/14/13/6 (before 9/2) or 14/14/09/10 (after 9/2) weeks, etc.

You get whatever your weekly benefit was under the old claim. If it is $50 higher, that's what you get now until it is exhausted.

Phew that math was confusing me as well. I'm still on my regular U.I. benefits. My benefits are small. I have enough for 21 of the 26 weeks allowed for regular benefits.

The total amount is close to 4500 so my assumption has been if they do allow new extensions but keep the math the same I would get 54% of that 4500 which would be 2430 available to me in tier 1. ( I'm in california ) Now my weekly payment will stay the same so lets say that weekly payment has been 205.00

Right now on Tier 1 California allows up to 14 weeks. If I divide 2430 by 205 I will get a maximum of it looks like 11 weeks of the full 14 available for Tier 1. is this correct? If so after those 11 weeks because I didn't qualify for the max 14 do I have enough to go to Tier 2? Understand my goal is to not even be on Tier 1 if possible but it's good to know something is available if there is no work available.

House Republicans reversed course Tuesday evening and charted a course toward likely passage of the bipartisan agreement struck in the Senate to avoid the worst effects of the “fiscal cliff,’’setting up a late-night vote to complete a dramatic day in which the critical legislation appeared to be endangered for several hours.

I filed my (EUC) weekly claim on sunday 12/30 (before the cliff) and should have been paid today but received nothing (holiday). Should I expect something tomorrow or am I cut until our wonderful leaders extend EUC benifits?

You are correct.

Yes. If you qualify for EUC, you qualify for all the tiers currently being paid in the state paying your benefits.

You are eligible for benefits for week ending 12/29. Cliff has nothing to do with benefits for week ending 12/29. Clearly, you couldn't claim that week until 12/30, earliest. Some state offices may have been closed 12/31. Today is a holiday, as well. Your state should pay you this week. If they don't, call them.
