Couple tidbits, topics will mix between Rt 1 and PG Plaza but imo, these two forums should be merged together anyways as College Park-Riverdale Park-Hyattsville Development or Greater College Park Development or something along that line

-Saw a sign up for a new storefront/business Work+Shop along Route 1 as I was driving home the other night near the District Courthouse, couldn't find anything on what it's about, but I came across a lot of other news

-Pyramid Atlantic Art Center is opening July 15
paac

-UTC MedStar Opening July 17
MedStar Health at UTC opening set for July 12 – Hyattsville Today

-Read that DC Sweet Potato Cake and Cafe is opening in the Arts District this year
https://dcsweetpotatocake.com/
From DC to QVC: Risky Moves Help Family Recipe Go National - DCBlack.com

Saw a sign for The Sugar Vault also opening in the Arts District soon
Sugar Vault Desserts & Bakery LLC

Jim Henson's Muppet Memorial at Magruder Park
Magruder Park now home to memorial honoring Jim Henson’s legacy – Hyattsville Today

"Prince George’s Plaza Transit District Development Plan’s recommendation that East West Highway be reduced to two lanes"
Queensbury Road residents meet with local officials to discuss traffic issues – Hyattsville Today
I've mentioned my concern with traffic, biking, and walking along East-West and Baltimore Avenue before, hopefully this happens and they build out bike lanes and better sidewalks, but that is certainly me taking their proposal and merging it with my desires

And lastly, the Hollywood Gateway Park proposal above reminded me that Dietz Park was suppose to be getting a make over as well, Hyattsville receives grant for Deitz Park playground redesign | Hyattsville Life & Times but I have heard nothing about it since, wondering if there have been any updates on that

MSC is the Retail Broker for Terrapin Row, the new luxury student housing mixed-use project at the edge of UMD College Park's campus. Here is the link to their brochure if you are interested. One notable is that one retail space is 5k sqft with outdoor seating. That's enough space for a pretty nice size restaurant/bar & grill. MSC U is the division of MSC that specializes in university developments. Hopefully they pick a unique retailer and not something like Buffalo Wild Wings.

Another notable is that the brochure mentions a January 2017 delivery date to students. I really thought they would be delivered by the fall semester. From the outside, everything looks complete. There are no more construction crews outside.

It must be a typo. The Terrapin Row Facebook page has a photo up that says five weeks until move-in day.

New website for The Hotel at UMD. Also, if anyone wants to know, the hotel will be part of the Stash Hotel Rewards program.

Look out Whole Foods and Shoppers Food Warehouse, Lidl plans to open a pretty big store in College Park. At 36,000 sqft, that matches Whole Foods' footprint. I thought it would be the same size as a Trader Joes or an Aldi.

At the same time, information is slowly trickling in about the sites it wants to open, including a 36,170-square-foot store it has applied to open in College Park by Baltimore Avenue and Berwyn Road. The county's subdivision and development review committee is slated to consider that one July 29.

CP is going from a food desert to a foot cornucopia. I won't be going to the Lidl much though whenever that opens but that's good for the residents on that side of town.
