Took a drive in the mountains today. It was a beautiful day for it!

It was a bit chilly up in the mountains. It's too bad photos can't truly capture the way it feels to be somewhere. When I took that last photo I was desperately wishing I had my camping gear with me, because I really, really didn't want to leave. It was literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!

Thank you! I injured my knee recently but when/if it heals I'm planning to go camping in that area. Just an incredible place.

I camped near Damfino Lakes last night, which was a mistake. It was extremely cold and there was deep snow everywhere. I fell through some snow in one spot and my foot went into water, so I had wet feet for the rest of the night and nothing could keep me warm. So it became more of a survival trip than a camping trip! But still, I got some pictures!

That's the "living and existing in the wild experience," Lamplight! Good that you survived.

It wasn't particularly fun, but it was good to challenge myself (even if it was unintentional), and I'm happy with the resulting pictures. And a warm shower never felt better!

The old hitting yourself in the finger with a hammer just so you can experience the joy of how good it feels once the pain goes away thing, eh?

When it was happening I wasn't terribly thrilled, but after the fact I didn't regret it. And of course I learned a few lessons (I always learn lessons the hard way!)
