That was just gross down here! We got up to 95 degrees I believe which tied the October record high.

I also like the last shot of mild temps that can hit us typically in early-mid November, before we enter the winter regime.

Bored because the temps are boring right now where you live? I live a lot further south than you, and my winters are certainly colder than anything Ireland gets.

Canadian Met on board with other models for reversal of this disgusting jet stream pattern that has plagued the eastern half of the US since late July

Lake winds have been prevalent this summer. Multi model forecast are now indicated a significant warm up after this week

You haven't had any warm weather for nearly a month though. 17c is not summer.

An image to go with the discussion: Simple rule of thumb, Right Rear Quad of Jet always has the most severe storms.

250mb Jet and Uptons Discussion: THE REGION WILL BE IN THE RIGHT REAR QUADRANT OF A 100+ KNOT 250 HPA JET TUESDAY WITH ASSOCIATED DIVERGENCE ALOFT...COUPLED WITH
THE APPROACHING/PASSING COLD FRONT SHOULD PROVIDE SUFFICIENT
FORCING TO WARRANT LIKELY POPS ACROSS THE TRI-STATE.

They are saying here, strong Jet, divergence up above, and cold front coming through will help create forcing to provide precip.

So here's what I think... from now till unknown central US from Texas to Canada will be getting torched.

After the 20th the East will be warming up to above normal again (80s/90s) but the heart of the heat looks to continue to be West of the TN Valley.

Look at this time frame Thursday evening max temps August 23rd. Time stamp says 06z Friday but the previous time stamp is 18z Thursday. So its the max between 2pm and 2am. After a certain time they only show 12hr intervals not 6.
