LOL I can almost hear your accent in that post Mac15!
And I'll pray you are right (our farm just needs 3-4 more weeks to get it all ripened)...6 weeks and all will be off (as long as it isn't covered by snow).
Cambium any frost (no matter how short) isn't welcomed prior to ripening here!

Change in weather pattern signals prolonged warmth

An unusual distribution of temperature over North America this August has resulted in the month running about 3 degrees below normal in Chicago. Only 3 of the first 18 days of the month have posted above normal temps. Meanwhile, readings in interior Alaska and the Canadian arctic have, on occasion, been warmer than the Great lakes region. Fairbanks, AK is currently running 6.6 degrees above normal for August. This distorted pattern is in the process of changing. Medium range computer models have been consistent in chilling high latitudes, while heating up air across the continental U.S. over the upcoming week. This is expected to result in westerly jet stream winds across southern Canada, effectively blocking further intrusions of cool air into the Midwest. By next weekend, a dome of hot air is forecast to build toward the Chicago area.
