For Fairbanks, it looks like that happens on average around mid-October. But that's not the end of summer; that's end of fall.
Well you are right as i've just checked Tutempio which surprised me because I always thought that Fairbanks got cold winter weather by end of September.
Sorry I must clarify when I say freezing I mean during the day, in Alaska it can be below freezing any night of the year.
True for only parts of Alaska. Interior, such as Fairbanks has not gotten freezing nights in midsummer. Pacific Coast obviously can't. Arctic coast can, since sea temperatures are around freezing.
Possible snowfall in Quebec next weekend. Notice I said "snowfall", not snowstorm. Still early and want to wait for more data. But the Euro shows a strong storm with cold air filtering down. Shows a healthy 3-6" amounts based on 10:1 ratios
I call this the Euro 1-2-3 Knockdown. First trough not impressive. 2nd one strengthens and northeast will feel the cool down.. 3rd one will flatten the top of the ridge and guess what that means. The 4th one now has room to slide south more which means Mid West will start getting first shot of fall and maybe then some. I'm thinking maybe 3rd week of Sept?
