McKinley Beach in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the closest beach to me. In the summer the temperature is in the 70s and in the winter it drops to the 20s and 30s. It's alright to swim in but it doesn't get very warm until August and September.

Nearest beach to me is Cottesloe Beach about 5km away. The weather is similar to the rest of Perth, however it is usually 2-3C cooler on an average summers day due to an earlier arrival of the seabreeze and similarly warmer on winter mornings.

It's a 5 minute walk. Same weather as the rest of Seattle though...

Oh yeah, I forgot about Osoyoos Lake, Canada's warmest lake about 50 km (1 hour) south of Penticton.

Really nice beaches that are one of the main attractions in Osoyoos.

Moonlight Beach, 1-mi from my home.

I can walk forward for miles, all the way to Swami's (famous surfing beach) & La Jolla... or in the opposite direction through Carlsbad & Oceanside... or follow Hwy 101, next to the ocean, all the way to Seattle.

I shall be there in a few hours before the sun's too bright, sneakers filled with sand.

Now some pictures of beaches here. This here is in Cuxhaven about 40 km/ 25 miles north of here.

And some beach pictures of Norderney as well. Well at least to me nothing in the larger vicinity beats this. 20 km of long white sandy beach. Planning to go there for a day in August when i feel better. It's only a 90 mile drive which takes 3-4 hours and then another one for the ferry to the island.

South beach seen from the ferry

North beach

Note all pictures here taken by me at different times and with different cameras.
